Trewinney Farmhouse
Trewinney is a delightful 17th century farmhouse, full of olde-world charm, wonkey walls and floors, creaky floorboards, but no ghosts! In fact the only creature to roam the corridors is 'Shukran' our monster Maine Coon cat.
Stef has created a wonderful atmosphere at Trewinney and you will immediately notice how welcoming and cosy the farmhouse feels.
The house is heated by the kitchen range and there is a large wood burner in the dining room-library, with comfy chairs for guests to sit and browse the many novels available, or, on the chillier evenings to savour the delights of the log fire.
Trewinney has a choice of four bedrooms, including the romantic four poster room 'Alice'.
We keep ducks, chickens and geese which keep Nutmeg, our pygmy goat, company.
Our menagerie also includes our cats, Shukran, Shakira, Tabatha and Gismo, and last but by no means least, Buster our Border Collie dog.
Trewinney is sited a little back from the cliffs on the northern side of Mevagissey, so it's easy to understand how every bedroom has superb sea views!
If a rural setting is a change for you, waking up at Trewinney will be a special treat.
You will almost certainly wake to the morning song, from the many birds which visit our garden every day of the year, whilst enjoying the superb sea views, from the comfort of your bedroom.
Views from the bathroom window however, offer something very different. Looking out over the back lawn, orchard & fields, you will hopefully see the early morning antics of the chickens, geese and ducks calling to one another on the lawn, or Nutmeg our pygmy goat mothering his little flock of feathered friends!!!
Night-time brings along other creature delights! The orchard is a haven for our little black bats and on clear, dry nights, when the Barn Owls fly, you may be lucky enough to hear and see them flying low across the fields from your bedroom window.
Alice's room is our largest double room, it has great charm and character, featuring the Luxurious dark-wood four-poster bed; comfy settee; original fireplace; wood panelling and a very sloping floor.
To complete the scene, superb sea views of Mevagissey Bay and Chapel Point are perfectly framed by the sash windows.

Abigail our second double room is slightly smaller, but features the original wood beams to a low ceiling, giving a very cosy feeling to the room.
The double bed is placed to enable you to sit up in bed and appreciate the superb sea views through the wide, small paned windows. Darkwood furniture and co-ordinated soft furnishings give the room a romantic feel, especially when the moonlight is reflected off the water of Mevagissey Bay!

Annabel is our spacious twin room which can sleep 3 people and features the original fireplace; wood panelling and beams. A light but cosy atmosphere is created by the combination of antique pine furniture and luxurious soft furnishings. The sash windows focus your attention on the superb views of Mevagissey Bay and Chapel Point.

Amelias room is typical of most single rooms, our room is small but tastefully furnished, very cosy and offers stunning views of the sea and coast. Many of our guests while away the late evening watching the day close from the cosy chair in front of the window.

None of our bedrooms are en-suite! We prefer not to spoil the character and 'old world feel' of the farmhouse by attempting to provide en-suite facilities.
Our bathroom is warm and cosy with a window overlooking the rear lawn and orchard. Most mornings, the antics of our resident menagerie of ducks, geese and chickens will keep you amused.
Guests can use the electric shower, or alternatively, you can take a bath that is fed directly from the cooking range which has plenty of steaming hot water available around the clock.
There is a selection of toiletries, including bubble bath, shower gel, liquid soap, shampoo & conditioner, deodorant and perfume for guests use.
